Tommy Terry-GreenTommy Terry-Green is a writer, filmmaker and podcaster who has been working professionally since 2012. His biggest strength is the ability to tell a story, whether it's through words of fiction in the writing process, words of non-fiction in journalism, or if it's in the edit in post-production. He always tries to find a compelling narrative. Whether it's during pre-production (writing), post-production (editing) or post-post-production (journalism).
Tommy began his work in film as co-creator and head film writer for the website GEEKSPACE in April 2012. His work with GEEKSPACE lead to many opportunities such as interviewing Hollywood writers and reviewing some of the biggest films before their release as well as covering some of the UK's largest popular culture events. After the decline of GEEKSPACE and gaining membership in the National Union of Journalists in 2015, Tommy then started to branch out into freelance writing for popular publications like Heroic Hollywood, Schmoes Know and Star Wars News Net. It was with Star Wars News Net that brought the highlight of his writing career, in covering The Last Jedi red carpet premier in London. Writing opened up a door to podcasting for Tommy and since 2015 he has been the host of several podcasts on iTunes such as The GEEKSPACE Podcast, FILMCAST, Favourite Film Ever... (Of All Time), Hype Cast and, most popular of all, Segue City. Segue City was created by Tommy and his friend and frequent collaborator, David (known to his fans as Captain Dave) as an off-shoot of Captain Dave's popular gaming channel. The show was unfortunately cancelled when Captain Dave left thus leaving Tommy to create a new network of podcasts on the up-and-coming Insider Network. He directed his first short film, Sons of Rapture in 2014, an ambitious science fiction short film, rendered entirely in 3D CGI about four pilots' last conversation before a suicide mission. Since then, Tommy has worked on a number of live-action short films and music videos including The Master Plan and Based on a True Story. In 2015, Tommy created the short-lived but popular cartoon web-series, Schmoe Toons, where he animated clips from the popular Schmoes Know Movies show. After the pilot episode, the show was picked up by the Schmoes Know team and broadcast on their channel to tens of thousands of people. Tommy's first job at a major film studio came in 2018 when he earned an internship at STUDIOCANAL in London. His time here saw him work on films such as King of Thieves, Yardie, Big Bad Fox & Other Tales, Playmobil: The Movie, Radioactive, Cold Pursuit, Farmageddon: A Shaun the Sheep Movie and Beautiful Boy. I have most recently been commissioned by the UK's leading provider of Mental Healthcare outside of the NHS to create a documentary series interviewing patients and staff about recovery entitled Recovery Stories. This will start to go into production in the first half of 2019. |
